Macky started quilting in 1977, initially as a self taught quilter, but has over the years attended many workshops with local and international teachers. She is a SAQG Recommended quilt teacher, a founder member of Dias Quilters Guild and is also a member of TAPE (Textile Artists Port Elizabeth). She was also a member of the Kouga Quilters Guild and has taught within these two guilds, in shops, for other guilds all over the country as well as at many of our National Quilt Festivals.

Macky is passionate about quilting and being creative is an integral part of her being. Fabric, fibres, threads and her art supplies is her chosen medium. She is just as passionate about
teaching and sharing her knowledge, as to plant seeds that will encourage her students to create from within themselves with confidence.
